If you're looking for things to enjoy during the Lunar New Year holiday, why not visit a place offering holiday events and traditional games? Here are places where the whole family can experience a variety of fun activities together.

The integrated resort Paradise City will hold the "Extraordinary (Tiger) Festival" from January 28 (Fri) through the 20th (Sun) of next month. This Lunar New Year festival will be held at the Paradise City Plaza Square, decorated as a "Paradise House." A wide range of programs has been prepared to suit different tastes, from an exhibition of works by a world-renowned Korean painter to traditional Korean music performances, folk game experiences, and prize events.

First, as the main program of the festival, a special exhibition by globally recognized Korean painter Kim Hyun Jung has been arranged. The exhibition design for this special exhibition was directed by artist Shin Min-su, who served as exhibition director, and about 30 pieces from Kim Hyun Jung's signature "Naesoong" series will be displayed. This series, themed around women in hanbok going about their daily lives, expresses the interests of contemporary people in a trendy and distinctive way, and is much loved both in Korea and abroad. A photo zone set against the backdrop of the "Irworobongdo" (Painting of the Sun, Moon, and Five Peaks) has also been prepared so visitors can take commemorative photos as if they themselves were the protagonists of a Korean folk painting.

Exciting folk game programs are also planned. Visitors can enjoy a variety of games with their whole family and create special memories, including DIY ttakjichigi, neol-twigi, jegichagi, and large-scale yutnori. The folk game experiences will run for three days, from the 30th (Sun) to February 1 (Tue).

Seoul Land will hold "An Exciting Lunar New Year! Seollan Get-Together" around the Samcheolli Hill area from January 29 (Sat) to February 2 (Wed). For this Lunar New Year holiday, Seoul Land has prepared special events to wish visitors luck and health as they begin the Year of the Black Tiger, filled with tiger energy. It will also offer sledding and smelt fishing experiences, activities available only in winter, to give visitors a different kind of enjoyment.

What visitors to Seoul Land will likely notice most during the Lunar New Year holiday is the special Year of the Black Tiger game, <Give Me a Rice Cake and I Won't Eat You>. This unique event, adapted from a traditional folktale, features a tiger character that seems to have leapt out of the story, engaging in a fierce contest with visitors over rice cakes. Visitors must throw rice cake dolls prepared at the event site into the tiger's basket. Visitors who complete the mission receive a lucky gift, while those who unfortunately fail can try the New Year's "exorcism" paddle experience. There will also be New Year fortune-telling and family-motto writing events. Visitors can have their New Year's fortune told and set New Year's resolutions through calligraphy family-motto writing. The fortune-telling and family-motto writing events, held for three days from January 31 to February 2, can be joined on a first-come, first-served basis at the event site near the Venice stage.

Gyeongju Expo Park will hold Lunar New Year discount events and traditional game experiences from January 29 to February 2. Traditional games and performance events will take place in the outdoor space in front of Hwarang Anolja at Gyeongju Expo Park. Visitors can experience various traditional games including tuho, jegichagi, large-scale yutnori, and hangung, and can also watch busking performances four times daily, including pansori, folk songs, fusion gugak, and performances by North Korean defector singers. In addition, "Uri Nolteo" (Our Playground) offers nine kinds of traditional games including gonu, silttwigi (string game), sangaji, gonggi, and namseungdo-nori.

Resom Resort is also holding a variety of events for the Lunar New Year holiday for the whole family to enjoy and make memories together. Forest Resom and Restree Resom, known as private forest resorts, will hold a free calligraphy family-motto writing event at the Forest Club lobby from January 31 to February 1. In addition, from January 30 to February 2, guests using designated dining facilities will receive a lucky scratch coupon and fortune cookie, with winners receiving prizes such as breakfast vouchers, wine exchange vouchers, and spa vouchers.

Island Resom in Anmyeondo will run a "Lunar New Year Special Dinner Buffet" from January 31 to February 1, featuring about 70 kinds of local seafood including seasonal yellowtail, and will hold a "Lucky Bokjumeoni (blessing pouch)" prize drawing for a free breakfast buffet for diners. On January 31, a bubble show performance for families with children will also be held. It can be viewed with prior application for a limited number of spots, and dinner buffet guests can enter for free.

Splas Resom will hold a folk games festival from January 31 to February 2, including jegichagi, yutnori, and tuho, and on January 30 will operate a "Drone Experience School," a modern-day version of kite flying, for young guests at the Grand Hall. In addition, on January 31, the day before Lunar New Year, at 8 p.m., it will present a special Lunar New Year performance featuring a fantastic circus and busking for family guests, along with a special dinner buffet. Dinner buffet guests receive free admission to the special performance.
