The ‘Inmulyeol Exhibition’, where visitors can be thoroughly immersed in the charms of six distinctive artists, is on view at Gallery Edition (Light Lounge Gallery) through April 13. Korean painter Kim Hyun Jung and lacquer painter Kim Mi-suk are acclaimed abroad as well for works rooted in tradition; Gam Man-ji offers a fairy-tale sensibility through the dry brush of ink; and pop artist Woo Hyun-ah, beloved for works that bring happiness, such as the SK hynix mural and E-Land projects, makes viewers smile. Also taking part are Jung Yeo-eun, who is active mainly in Taiwan, and Kim Gi-ae, whose childhood memories of ‘Motnani’ (ugly-faced) dolls create a sense of empathy in everyone. These six painters, each working in a different genre, come together to present an exhibition on the theme of stories of people.

Curator Jung Yu-rim, who organized the exhibition, said in her review: “For the artist, the moment of the protagonist in the ‘Inmulyeol Exhibition’ is a record and a history, and a gesture the artist wishes to convey to visitors. The artists are beings with souls that breathe passionately and enjoy freedom within their works; for them, pigment and brush are pen, song and instrument, and so the thinking of an artist must be free and without limits.”

Bella Meyer, granddaughter of Marc Chagall (1887–1985), visited Korea for the immersive art exhibition ‘Chagall, from Paris to New York’, which opened at Bunker de Lumières in Jeju. She later visited Theatre of Lights in Seoul and viewed with keen interest the ‘Inmulyeol Exhibition’ presented at Gallery Edition (Light Lounge Gallery). ‘Inmul Yeoljeon’ (Portrait Chronicles), the stories of the six painters’ figures, runs at Gallery Edition (Walkerhill Hotel & Resorts, B1) through April 13.
