Korean blending-tea cafe Ogada (CEO Choi Seung-yoon), ahead of Dongji (winter solstice) on the 19th, is holding a signing event with Korean painter Kim Hyun Jung at its Munhwa Ilbo branch, followed by an exhibition of her work running through February of next year.

Ogada is holding the signing event as part of its ongoing "Patti" Festival collaboration with Kim Hyun Jung ahead of Dongji.

The signing event will be held for two hours, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday the 19th, on the second floor of Ogada's Munhwa Ilbo branch, and is open to any visitor. Customers who take part in the signing event will receive three types of artwork postcards, including one signed by Kim Hyun Jung, as well as three special discount coupons, including a buy-one-get-one Pat-au-lait coupon.

Following the signing event at its Munhwa Ilbo branch, Ogada will also hold an exhibition of Kim Hyun Jung's work. Ten of the artist's playful and witty works will be on display, and any Cafe Ogada customer is free to view the exhibited pieces. The exhibition runs through February 28 of next year.

Korean painter Kim Hyun Jung is a young artist who graduated from the Department of Oriental Painting at Seoul National University and is a rising star in the Korean art scene, known for painting cheerful yet audacious modern genre works through her piece "The Story of Naesoong."

In an art world that values seniority and experience, she has taken a pioneering role as the "idol of Korean painting," popularizing Korean painting through social media. In 2016, she drew attention by being invited to exhibit at New York's Metropolitan Museum.

Ogada CEO Choi Seung-yoon explained the purpose of the event, saying, "Through this collaboration with Korean painter Kim Hyun Jung's work, we want to show the beautiful blending of tradition and modernity," and added, "We plan to continue various cultural projects that present Korean values in a refined, contemporary way."
