Korean painter Kim Hyun Jung appeared on MBN's "Grasshopper Playing with Ants," broadcast August 9.
Kim Hyun Jung is an artist who blends contemporary daily life with Korean painting, expressing it with her own distinctive wit, and has received great love for her signature "Naesoong series."
Kim Hyun Jung caught attention by proudly calling herself "the idol of Korean painting," showing confidence in her looks. Wearing a daenggi (traditional hair ribbon), Kim showed off beauty rivaling that of an actress.
Park Gun praised her, saying, "You don't need to be shy about it—you look like an idol." Jang Yoon-jung said with delight, "She reminds me of our junior singers. Our juniors wear a lot of daenggi too."
Kim Hyun Jung laughed and said, "I usually wear hanbok and daenggi a lot, so I hear that a lot."
Asked about the art world's reaction, Kim Hyun Jung said with pride, "Right after I graduated from university and was preparing my work, everyone would say, 'What a grand family you must come from to be doing this.' Now, senior artists cheer me on a lot. They tell me the art world needs someone like me."
