Korean painter Kim Hyun Jung added meaning to her news by sharing that her work has been included in textbooks.
Kim Hyun Jung recently posted on her Instagram, along with a related image, writing that her work has been 'included in 25 elementary, middle, and high school art textbooks.'
Kim Hyun Jung said, 'The Naesoong stories, a 21st-century genre painting told through an everyday, contemporary sensibility, are meeting students in classrooms across the country,' adding, 'It's all the more meaningful to be able to convey creative inspiration and pride in our culture through works grounded in traditional technique.'
She went on to say, 'I hope people will approach these paintings in textbooks with the feeling that art is not something far away,' expressing her affection for the work.
Kim Hyun Jung's 'Naesoong' series has steadily won affection for wittily unpacking the everyday lives of women and social messages by layering contemporary subjects and sensibilities onto traditional Korean painting techniques.
