Korean painter Kim Hyun Jung's exhibition 'Naesoong, Spring Story' will be held from May 15-28 at Geunmindang in Yekki Village, Andong, North Gyeongsang Province. Yekki Village, a village with art and flair. Held to mark the village's spring festival, 'Yekki Village Blooms Beautifully,' the exhibition offers visitors a chance to view around 20 representative works by Kim Hyun Jung, an artist drawing attention for the 'boldness' of her fresh ideas, subject matter, and expressive techniques.

Kim Hyun Jung is famous as an artist who paints women wearing hanbok, the clothing representative of traditional culture. She is also an artist of the 'Naesoong series,' fun and meaningful works that use traditional Oriental painting techniques to realistically depict figures and reinterpret genre painting into contemporary culture. Kim Hyun Jung's works are included in nine sets of elementary, middle, and high school art textbooks. She was invited to an exhibition at 'Kimchi Day' at the U.S. Congress in Washington, D.C., and was also the first Korean art figure selected for the U.S. economic magazine Forbes' 'Asia's 30 Under 30' list in 2017.

'Naesoong, Spring Story,' held at Yekki Village, is Kim Hyun Jung's second regional exhibition and is expected to lend meaning to 'reinterpreting traditional culture' and 'popularizing traditional culture,' the direction Andong, a city of traditional culture, should pursue.
