Musical actress Kim So-hyang and Korean painter Kim Hyun Jung will meet at the Seoul Arts Center's talk program "Sosso Salon."

The host of this talk, to be held at 2 p.m. on the 24th at the Recital Hall of the Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall, is Kim So-hyang. The two will unfold their candid and engaging life journeys under the theme "Surviving the Art World Without Pretense."

Kim So-hyang, who made her debut in the 2001 musical "Godspell," has been active across both Korea and the US. In Korea, she has starred in leading roles in a range of productions including "Marie Curie," "Frida," and "Marie Antoinette." In the US, she drew attention for taking on significant roles in "Miss Saigon" (2013) and "Sister Act" (2017).

Artist Kim Hyun Jung has broken through the preconception that "Korean painting is unfamiliar and difficult," reaching the public with themes that resonate. Her works, depicting unexpected scenes such as a woman elegantly dressed in hanbok riding a motorcycle, drew attention. Her 2016 solo exhibition "Naesoong Amusement Park" drew about 67,000 visitors, and she also held an invitational solo exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York as the youngest Korean artist to do so.

"Sosso Salon" is a Seoul Arts Center Academy talk program created amid the prolonged pandemic with the aim of having casual, down-to-earth conversations with artists. It began in November 2020, and since this year has been meeting audiences at the Recital Hall on the fourth Saturday of every month.
