“Alita: Battle Angel,” armed with innovative visuals and an overwhelming scale, has unveiled a video titled “Painting the Alita Within Me,” created in collaboration with illusion artist Yoon Da-in.

Set in the 26th century, “Alita: Battle Angel” tells the story of Alita, a cyborg girl who has lost her memory. The film has already raised audience anticipation through a string of special collaborations, from Lee Seo-jin to GOT7's Jinyoung and painter Kim Hyun Jung.

This time, the team behind “Alita: Battle Angel” is once again drawing attention by unveiling “Painting the Alita Within Me,” a video made in collaboration with illusion artist Yoon Da-in.

Recognized as a master of “illusion art,” which creates optical illusions using her own face and body as a canvas, Yoon Da-in has drawn worldwide attention — winning the first Art Mining Grand Prize and the 2016 Korea Talent Award, and even being featured on renowned global art exhibition Instagram accounts.

Yoon, who has been expanding her influence through her singular artistry, used herself as a canvas to render Alita, the protagonist of this innovative action blockbuster, capturing the character in her own distinctive sensibility.

In particular, to depict the cyborg girl Alita, she brought out color and detail down to her face and fingertips, offering a glimpse of a new kind of warrior Alita.

The video also captures, in full view, the delicate process by which artist Yoon Da-in completed her rendition of Alita, adding further special appeal. Through this collaboration with illusion artist Yoon Da-in, “Painting the Alita Within Me” reveals a charm that contrasts with Alita's on-screen appearance, further amplifying anticipation and interest among prospective moviegoers.

“Alita: Battle Angel” is set to open on February 5.
