At the '2019 Seoul Publicity Ambassadors' Night: Stars Share Their Light' event held at Seoul City Hall, broadcasting personalities Hong Hyun-hee and J.Y., a married couple, will be appointed as Seoul Metropolitan Government publicity ambassadors (Seoul publicity ambassadors).
Sharing their thoughts on the appointment, Hong Hyun-hee and J.Y. said, "Seoul is the foundation of our married life," adding, "We are very happy and excited to become publicity ambassadors representing Seoul."
The couple will receive their appointment plaques from Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon on-site on the 29th (Friday) and begin their activities as Seoul publicity ambassadors. The couple said, "We are having all kinds of experiences living as newlyweds in Seoul. We will share those experiences and stories. We will work to make Seoul a better place to live and to deliver good news to more people."
Comedian Hong Hyun-hee and interior designer J.Y. (real name Yeon Je-seung), an older-woman-younger-man newlywed couple who married in 2018, have received much love from viewers for appearing on various entertainment programs, including TV Chosun's "The Taste of a Wife." They are known for their behind-the-scenes content and close communication with fans through blogs, YouTube, and other social media.
Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon said, "Going forward, we hope to become a Seoul Metropolitan Government that stands as a reliable pillar close to citizens' lives through various policies, including housing support for newlyweds, in order to build a Seoul that is good to live in together," adding, "I am glad to be able to talk about Seoul in various places together with Hong Hyun-hee and J.Y., and I look forward to their future activities."
Meanwhile, the '2019 Seoul Publicity Ambassadors' Night: Stars Share Their Light' event, where the appointment ceremony takes place, is designed as an occasion to look back on the Seoul publicity ambassadors' activities in 2019, share plans for 2020, and practice sharing by spreading warm light to blind spots in need of help.
Part 1 of the event is planned as a year-end gathering bringing together the Seoul publicity ambassadors. It will feature the appointment ceremony for new publicity ambassadors and the presentation of plaques of appreciation to publicity ambassadors who were active in publicity activities throughout 2019. The plaques of appreciation go to actor Kim Na-woon, architect Yoo Hyun-joon, and Korean painter Kim Hyun Jung.
Part 2 of the event features a charity auction concert co-hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and K Auction, Korea's leading art auction house. K Auction's charity auction concert is a meaningful event in which Seoul publicity ambassadors directly practice sharing through a charity auction of cherished items (talent donations).
K Auction, the donation platform participating in this event, is a leading auction house that contributes to the development of Korea's culture and arts through the formation of a healthy art market. K Auction's charity auctions are conducted as part of its ongoing social contribution efforts, serving as a bridge that allows item donors to direct the proceeds to the donation recipients of their choice through K Auction's auction platform.
The charity auction consists of cherished items donated by Seoul publicity ambassadors and talent donations. The proceeds raised through the charity auction will be delivered to six donation partners (World Vision, Green Umbrella Children's Foundation, Korea Mecenat Association, Seungil Hope Foundation, Make-A-Wish Korea, and the Korea Kennel Federation) across a total of five fields (emergency relief, children, culture and arts, medical care, and animal welfare).
This charity auction concert features a wealth of special cherished items donated by numerous Seoul publicity ambassadors, offering plenty to see. Singer Zico, actors Kim Na-woon and Park Jin-hee, broadcasting personalities Park Soo-hong, Kim Mi-hwa, and Daniel Lindemann, chef Choi Hyun-seok, editor-in-chief Park Ji-ho, cartoonist Kang Ju-bae, announcer Lee Eon-kyung, and many other publicity ambassadors donated cherished items and talents.
Singer Zico is drawing particular attention for donating clothes and a hat he regularly wore, while chef Choi Hyun-seok donated a figurine he cherished. Various other cherished items will also be on display, including CDs signed by the publicity ambassadors, cosmetics, and bags.
The special auctioneer leading the charity auction that day is actor Lee Gwang-gi, who has served as a Seoul publicity ambassador since 2012. As an actor who practices the values of charity and sharing firsthand, he will lend his talents as a warm charity auctioneer to many citizens that day. Musical actors Jo Seung-woo and Kim Su-a, along with countertenor Louis Choi, will also present a delightful concert.
Part 2's charity auction concert also opened up an opportunity for citizen participation. Through a 1-Day SNS Supporters recruitment event held until the 26th on Seoul's official communication portal "Seoul in My Hand," a total of 10 citizen supporters were invited to participate on-site.
Citizens who were not selected in the drawing but wish to take part in the Seoul publicity ambassadors' "Stars Share Their Light" charity auction can participate in K Auction's December online charity auction (K Auction website, www.k-auction.com). Through the online charity auction, the Seoul publicity ambassadors' practice of sharing will continue into December as well.
Seoul publicity ambassadors operate based on the vision of "people who love Seoul and talk about Seoul." They are composed of experts from diverse fields such as broadcasting, society, architecture, culture, and art, and do their best to represent citizens' dreams and hopes by promoting Seoul and publicizing City Hall. They stated that they plan to continue creating occasions of warm sharing, such as the Publicity Ambassadors' Night, and gatherings together with citizens.
