[News Free Zone = Reporter Jang Hyo-nam] Seoul's Seocho District (District Mayor: Cho Eun-hee) will run 'Seorip Culture Class' via YouTube and the online performance 'Three-Minute Relay Classics with a Story, <Love & Hope>' starting on the 10th, for artists whose stages disappeared due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the district on the 13th, 'Seorip Culture Class' will offer residents whose spirits have been worn down by the closure of cultural facilities due to COVID-19 a time of healing across four themes — music, art, literature, and travel.
Starting with the music edition on the 10th, well-known classical YouTuber 'Jenny Yoon' will host the first broadcast, and on the 11th, popular podcaster Tak Jae-hyung will broadcast a travel talk show.
Korean painter Kim Hyun Jung, travel writer Shin Kyung-ah, saxophonist Brandon Choi, violinist Kim Ji-yoon, and other renowned artists have prepared a variety of content.
The event can be enjoyed as an online live broadcast on the Seocho District Office's official YouTube channel, and comments will also be exchanged between residents and artists on YouTube.
The Seocho Symphony Orchestra's 'Three-Minute Relay Classics with a Story, <Love & Hope>' is also being pursued. The Seocho Symphony Orchestra, a resident ensemble of the Seocho Culture Foundation, continues active performance activities including foundation-planned concerts and invited performances at the 'Seorip Festival.'
From the 10th to the 20th, under the theme 'Love,' the orchestra delivers a special message of love to help overcome these difficult times through classical music, each piece carrying its own story, conveying feelings of love to medical staff and volunteers, among others, every day.
From the 21st to the 30th, under the theme 'Hope,' it presents video performances of classical music carrying messages of love and hope amid difficult circumstances.
The solo relay performances will feature many talented young artists of the Seocho Symphony Orchestra (Principal Conductor Bae Jong-hoon), offering world-class culture and arts performances. The district will also continue to actively communicate with residents about culture and the arts through the YouTube comments section.
District Mayor Cho Eun-hee said, "I hope the new online culture and arts services, 'Seorip Culture Class' and 'Three-Minute Relay Classics with a Story, <Love & Hope>,' will give strength to the tired hearts of residents and local artists who are going through a difficult time due to COVID-19."
