Let's Run Park Seoul Horse Museum has released a special calendar (photo) to commemorate its art collaboration project exhibition '(New) Portrait of a Beauty on Horseback.'
The calendar features work by rising Korean painter Kim Hyun Jung, who delicately expresses a contemporary sensibility atop Korean tradition. Sold for a limited time alongside artist Kim Hyun Jung's invitational exhibition, the calendar is available for purchase at Let's Run Park Seoul Horse Museum through the end of this month. All proceeds will be donated entirely to fund therapeutic riding lessons.
Meanwhile, Let's Run Park Seoul Horse Museum is holding Korean painter Kim Hyun Jung's invitational exhibition '(New) Portrait of a Beauty on Horseback' through the end of this month, to mark the renovation of its special exhibition hall. The exhibition presents a number of works that could be called Korean painting's own '(New) Portrait of a Beauty on Horseback,' depicting horses and women, including 'Riding a Horse,' 'A Woman Is a Horse,' 'Somma-time,' 'A Word of Congratulations,' 'Santa Maria,' and 'Naesung Paradise.' In this exhibition, artist Kim Hyun Jung, using horses and beauties as her subject, unfolds the life and sentiments of contemporary people through delicate depiction reminiscent of Goryeo Buddhist painting and humor and wit rooted in Joseon-era genre painting. According to the Horse Museum, beyond the high level of expression, the fresh themes are worth seeing as a model of new genre painting. Admission is free. Inquiries: Let's Run Park Seoul Horse Museum, (02) 509-1275.
