Card-ui-jeongseok POINT series
Base 0.8% points with unlimited accrual
Reflects President Jeong Won-jae's emphasis on 'communication' and 'newness'
Woori Card is releasing a new product specialized in point accrual. It is the first product released since President Jeong Won-jae took office last January, reflecting his management philosophy of emphasizing 'communication' and 'newness.'
Woori Card announced on the 30th that it will launch the new 'Card-ui-jeongseok POINT' series next month on the 2nd. This product consists of two credit cards, 'Card-ui-jeongseok POINT' and 'Card-ui-jeongseok POINT Main Transaction,' and the check card 'Card-ui-jeongseok POINT Check.'
The biggest feature of the credit cards 'Card-ui-jeongseok POINT' and 'Card-ui-jeongseok POINT Main Transaction' is that point accrual is tiered by category, allowing up to 6% accrual at once. Notably, once the previous month's spending is 300,000 won or more, the card gives a base 0.8% of the amount spent in points, with no upper limit on accrual.
Through big-data analysis, points are given across 10 categories customers use most. Mobile telecom, public transit, and EV charging earn 3%~5%, and coffee and movies earn 3%. Department stores, large discount stores, online shopping, gas stations, and overseas spending earn 1%. Using simple-payment services such as Naver Pay and Kakao Pay adds 3% more.
However, mobile telecom, public transit, and EV charging currently cannot be paid for through simple-payment services, so the effective maximum point rate is 6%. The annual fee is 10,000 won for domestic use and 12,000 won for overseas use.
The check card 'Card-ui-jeongseok POINT Check' earns up to 1.5% in the same categories as the credit cards. Other categories earn 0.3%. Using simple-payment services grants an additional 1.5% accrual benefit.
A Woori Card official explained, "We reflected the mindset of 'communication,' meaning staying true to the basics, and 'flexibility,' meaning pursuing newness, that President Jeong emphasized in his inauguration speech earlier this year," adding, "We also applied Korean painter Kim Hyun Jung's work to the card plate to raise brand value."
