[Edaily reporter Jeon Jae-wook] Woori Card announced on the 31st that Card Basics POINT (pictured), launched on the 2nd of last month, has surpassed 300,000 cards issued.

The card earns a base point rate of 0.8% across all categories, the industry's best. Once spending in the previous month exceeds 300,000 won, points can be earned without any cap.

Telecom, public transit, and EV charging earn 5%; coffee and movies earn 3%; department stores, discount marts, online shopping, gas, and overseas purchases earn 1%.

Registering and using the card with the four major simple-pay services — Naver Pay, Kakao Pay, Payco, and SSG Pay — earns an extra 3% back.

The card also drew customer interest for its plate design, which applies Korean painter Kim Hyun Jung's work 'Gwayubulgeup.'

Through the end of next month, Woori Card is giving double points to customers who use the four major simple-pay services (Naver Pay, Kakao Pay, Payco, SSG Pay) with this card. It is also running 2–3 month interest-free installments at all merchants and airfare special-price events.

The card's annual fee is 12,000 won for the international version and 10,000 won domestic-only.

A Woori Card official said, "Next month we'll unveil discount-type and shopping-type 'Card Basics' products with dramatic benefits at the industry's best level."
