Woori Card (CEO Jung Won-jae) announced on the 4th that it has prepared an event letting customers of its new product 'Card Basics POINT' richly enjoy the "beauty of Korea."
First, an event offering a 50% discount on rental fees for hanbok, the traditional Korean garment prized for its beauty, so customers can enjoy it at an affordable price, is underway.
The event runs through the end of this year, and customers can get a 50% discount when paying rental fees at hanbok rental shops near Jongno-gu. The discount applies only at Woori Card partner shops, once per person per day, up to a maximum of 10,000 won. A promotional flag has been placed in front of the hanbok rental shops so customers can easily spot Woori Card's partners.
A 50% discount event on admission to major palaces and royal tombs in Seoul/Gyeonggi is also underway, letting customers enjoy the "architectural beauty and natural scenery of Korea."
The event runs through the end of June, applying at 21 sites including the Four Grand Palaces — Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung, Changgyeonggung, and Deoksugung — Jongmyo Shrine, and the Joseon royal tombs, up to once per person per month, a maximum of 2,000 won.
Meanwhile, on April 2 Woori Card launched its new product 'Card Basics POINT,' combining strong point-earning benefits with artistic design.
'Card Basics POINT' earns the industry's best base point rate, 0.8%, across all categories, with no cap once the previous month's spending reaches 300,000 won.
On top of that, 10 special categories customers frequently use — telecom, public transit, and EV charging at 5%; coffee and movies at 3%; large marts, department stores, online shopping, gas stations, and pet stores at 1% — earn up to 5% of the amount spent. Registering the card with simple-pay services such as Naver Pay, Kakao Pay, Payco, and SSG Pay and paying through them earns an extra 3% back.
The card plate design was the first in the industry to carry Korean beauty. By applying Korean painter Kim Hyun Jung's work 'Gwayubulgeup,' art was merged into an 8.5cm × 5.4cm card, and customers who received the actual card have given it high praise on social media as "a card that's even prettier in person."
Buoyed by parent company Woori Bank's full sales support and enthusiastic customer response, the card has surpassed 100,000 units issued just three weeks after launch, continuing to perform strongly.
Further details on the product and event are available on the Woori Card website and mobile app.
