Woori Card announced on the 13th that its flagship product Card of Standards, which gained popularity since its launch last April, has surpassed 2 million enrollments.
The card topped 1 million enrollments within 5 months of launch, then showed an even steeper issuance pace, reaching 2 million in under 9 months. This is the fastest pace since Woori Card's founding.
Woori Card's own analysis is that the card's success came from thoroughly reflecting the customer-centered mindset that CEO Jung Won-jae has always emphasized, across every stage of product planning, service design, and design. The results, the company says, came from a shift in thinking -- toward making a product that sells itself rather than one that has to be sold.
Through big data analysis, the card packed in industry-leading point and discount benefits optimized for changing customer needs and spending patterns. It embroidered onto the plate a design that anyone would want to own, adopted from a work by Korean painter Kim Hyun Jung.
A 'ㄱ'-shaped notch is placed in the upper right of the card plate surface to enhance aesthetics and usability. Differently colored sections lend a distinctive identity through a unique visual sense resembling vertical stripes.
The card name is placed vertically, completing an artistic design reminiscent of a Korean painting. It also obtained a design patent last October.
Compared to existing flagship general-purpose products, this card shows a usage rate and per-person spending amount about 10% higher, contributing to growth in new members and expanded market share as well. Premium and mileage-type cards are also planned for release.
A 2-million-enrollment event is also running through the 25th. Customers who spend 50,000 won or more on the Card of Standards series during this period are automatically entered into a drawing.
Through the drawing, prizes such as an LG Styler, LG Pra.L masks, AirPods, and a Starbucks diary set with two free beverage coupons will be given to a total of 1,600 winners.
