Woori Card announced on the 24th that its new product 'Card Jeongseok POINT' surpassed 100,000 units issued within three weeks of its explosively popular launch.
Woori Card launched the new product 'Card Jeongseok POINT,' pairing a strong point-back benefit with artistic design, on the 2nd of this month. Since launch, issuance has moved at a fast pace, surpassing 100,000 units within three weeks.
'Card Jeongseok POINT' offers an industry-leading base accrual rate of 0.8% across all categories, with unlimited accrual once the prior month's spending reaches 300,000 won.
On top of that, greater benefits go to categories customers frequently use. Big-data analysis identified everyday categories — mobile carriers, public transit, and EV charging at 5%, coffee and movies at 3%, and department stores, large discount marts, online shopping, gas, and overseas spending at 1% — earning up to 5% back across 10 special categories.
Benefits are also built in for simple-payment users. Registering the card with the four major simple-payment services — Naver Pay, Kakao Pay, Payco, and SSG Pay — and paying through them earns a further 3%, alongside each service's own benefits, making it very useful for simple-payment-loving customers.
The card-plate design is also the industry's first to carry Korean beauty, satisfying customers who value visual and emotional satisfaction in their cards. Applying Korean painter Kim Hyun Jung's work 'Gwayubulgeup' to the card's 8.5cm x 5.4cm surface transforms a rigid financial product into something more emotionally engaging. Customers who received the physical card have widely praised it on social media as 'even prettier in person.'
Alongside its explosive popularity, Woori Card is running rich and varied product-launch events for customers. Customers who spend 300,000 won or more on the card and enter by the end of May are eligible, by drawing, for prizes including 2 million Moa Points, a Galaxy S9 or S9+, an LG PuriCare air purifier, and a Dyson V8 cordless vacuum.
Other benefits include double Moa Points for the four simple-payment services (Naver Pay, Kakao Pay, Payco, SSG Pay), 2–3 month interest-free installments at all affiliated merchants, and discounted airfare events.
An 'annual fee cashback event' is also prepared for online applicants.
Customers who apply online for 'Card Jeongseok POINT' or 'Card Jeongseok POINT Check' by the end of June and spend 100,000 won or more by the end of the month following issuance can get up to 100% of their annual fee back for the former, or up to 5,000 won back for the latter.
Further details on the product and ongoing events are available on the Woori Card website and mobile app.
