Ewha Seoul Hospital (Hospital Director Joo Woong) announced that its Art Cube is holding Korean painter Kim Hyun Jung's invitational solo exhibition 'Naesoong Stories' from September 15 to November 17, presenting Korea's social landscape through Oriental painting techniques using hanbok as a symbolic medium.
Kim Hyun Jung's 'Naesoong Stories' depicts the everyday moments of a woman in elegant hanbok — sitting in front of the refrigerator eating pizza, drinking coffee, exercising — capturing the Korean sentiment of trying to strike a balance between saving face and being honest.
At the solo exhibition's opening reception held on the 22nd at the Art Cube on the 2nd floor of Ewha Seoul Hospital, medical center officials attended, including Ewha Womans University Medical Center Director Yoo Kyung-ha, Ewha Mokdong Hospital Director Kim Han-soo, and Ewha Seoul Hospital Director Joo Woong.
Meanwhile, painter Kim Hyun Jung was also selected in 2017 for Forbes' 'Asia's 30 Under 30 with Influence.'
