Joongoe Academic Welfare Foundation (Chairman Lee Jong-ho), the public interest foundation of JW Joongoe Group, announced on the 30th that it held the award ceremony for the "3rd JW Joongoe Young Art Award" at Gallery Blue, Hongik Art Center, in Daehak-ro, and that the winning works would be exhibited through the 4th of next month.
The event was held as an open call for emerging artists aged 19 to 39, seeking artworks that could symbolize JW Joongoe Group's corporate philosophy — "respect for life, eco-friendliness, and global growth" — along with the company's social responsibility through its philanthropic activities.
Of the 530 works submitted to the open call, JW Joongoe Group selected 18 main award winners, including Kim Hyun-ju, through a judging process, awarding a total of 25 million won in prize money. Winners of the Excellence Award and above will be given a separate exhibition opportunity next January.
In addition, Kim Hyun Jung was selected as the recipient of the Seoul Art Association Chairman's Award, while four artists — Won Sang-ho, Kim Yoon-ah, Park Young-bok, and Kim Ui-jung — received the Grand Prize, and three artists — Jang Tae-young, Seo Sun-kyung, and Han Chang-woo — received the Excellence Award.
