This is an art collaboration with Dongkook Pharmaceutical's skincare brand "Centellian24."
In 2020, for the new "Centellian24 Relief Cream" — formulated with the soothing herb centella (병풀, byeongpul) — I wove the brand's signature burgundy and the centella plant into a hankukhwa (한국화, Korean painting). A woman cradling a baby tiger, wearing a "tiger-centella floral crown," brings together the brand's strengths and the sensibility of a younger generation in a single image.
The finished work was used widely — in promotional displays at department stores and health-and-beauty shops such as AK Plaza and Olive Young, in online advertising, and on tarot cards and goods.
