Marriage may not simply be love with something added. Even the same person’s world can change dramatically once their position and responsibilities shift. Looking at Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam, the artist thought of life before and after marriage. Layered into this work, too, is a family memory of not being welcomed simply for being born a girl.
