Naesoong: Thirst — In Search of an Oasis

The strength to endure needs to be matched by the sense to know when to stop. Thirst does not disappear simply by enduring it. Naesoong: Thirst, In Search of an Oasis began by looking back on a mind grown accustomed to doing better and holding out longer. Sitting in the referee’s seat, watching over others’ games while failing to address one’s own thirst, seemed to resemble a mind skilled at judging other people’s lives while missing the signals within itself. What keeps a person going, in the end, is often not some grand achievement but a brief drink of water, a moment of rest, a short return to oneself. We are well practiced in enduring the desert, but far less skilled at finding the oasis.
