Since the 4th, Daegu Art Factory's first exhibition of the year, the special exhibition 'KOREA HIP!', has been running in Exhibition Hall 2 on the 2nd floor. Themed around Korea's own distinctive culture (K-culture), the exhibition continues through the 19th of next month.

The exhibition was planned from the perspective of viewing today's 'K-culture' as a cultural and artistic flow in which past art and everyday culture are reinterpreted through today's sensibility. Eight artists take part: Kwak Gi-ppeum, Kim Seon-jae, Kim Eun-jin, Kim Hyun Jung, Bae Mun-kyung, Jang Woo-seok, Jo Se-min, and Han Hyo-jin.

Works that clearly reveal the exhibition's concept include artist Kim Eun-jin's 'Seat of God -- A Sea of People 1,' a three-dimensional landscape of human figures and imagined beings rendered in mother-of-pearl on the front wall of the exhibition hall, and, continuing along the right-hand exhibition wall, artist Kim Hyun Jung's 'Naesoong Stories' series, which casts figures in hanbok as protagonists of some scene free of formality.

In the space continuing from the left wall are artist Han Hyo-jin's photographs and video 'Colatheque,' which connects Korea's elderly dance culture to the space of the colatheque. In a separately built space in one corner of the exhibition hall, artist Bae Mun-kyung's 'A Strange Folk Painting Tale_NATURE,' which realizes folk-painting and Ten Longevity Symbols imagery as a three-dimensional installation combined with projection mapping, is on display.

On the same day, as Part 1 of the 2026 <DAF Creative ON Room Project>, artist Ko Byeong-cheon's exhibition 'Density of Silence' and artist Jeon Ji-in's exhibition 'Romantic Jungle' (both in Exhibition Hall 1), as well as artist Kim Jun-seong's 'The World Is a Kaleidoscope' (Window Gallery), also opened.

These are three of the 12 young regional artists selected earlier this year through Daegu Art Factory's open call under the name <DAF Creative ON Room Project>.
