The Korea Power Generation Education Institute (Director Lee Chung-ho) has continued its social contribution program responsible for cultivating humanities literacy among local community students.
The institute announced that it held the '2nd Humanities Salon' at Taean Girls' High School in Taean-gun, Chungnam, on the 21st.
Held for the second time following June, this Humanities Salon was conducted under the theme of 'methods for generating creative ideas, healing through art,' to help cultivate creativity and humanities literacy among local youth.
Painter Kim Hyun Jung, who has drawn attention recently for breaking away from the conventional framework of Oriental painting and lowering the barrier to Korean painting for the public with a young, fresh sensibility, shared know-how on ▲creative idea-generation methods for fresh thinking and ▲methods of emotional healing through art activities.
Students who participated in the lecture said in unison, "It was good to be able to see in person the subject of paintings we had seen on social network services (SNS) and even hear her lecture," and, "We hope there will be more opportunities like this."
Meanwhile, the Power Generation Education Institute added that it hopes this humanities lecture on the theme of art will help cultivate humanities literacy among local students, and that it will continue to lead the way in realizing social value going forward.
