[Seoul Economic TV = reporter Seo Cheong-seok] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 18th that it will hold the youth mentoring concert <2020, Cheongchun-eoram>, featuring the city's honorary ambassadors, via YouTube live stream from 14:00 to 16:00 on Sunday, December 20. In 2020, a year marked by the hardship and fatigue of the COVID-19 pandemic, the city's honorary ambassadors are stepping up for its young people.
Looking back on an eventful 2020 and wishing for blessings in the coming new year as the year draws to a close, this year's Cheongchun-eoram carries the theme "Looking Back on a Year of Youth, Comforting My 2020." "Cheongchun-eoram (靑春於藍)" is a compound of "cheongchun" (youth) and the idiom "cheongchul-eoram" (the student surpasses the teacher), expressing the hope that through mentoring from Seoul's honorary ambassadors, young people will grow into even greater talents. The mentoring concert with Seoul's honorary ambassadors is held every year. This year's Cheongchun-eoram was planned as a contactless healing concert, carrying comfort for young people worn down by COVID-19.
<2020, Cheongchun-eoram> will be presented in a "visual radio" format, with Park Ji-ho, a Seoul honorary ambassador and former editor-in-chief of the magazine Arena Homme Plus, serving as the event's DJ and host.
In Session 1 [Heart Pharmacy] of Cheongchun-eoram, authors Kim Ha-na and Hwang Seon-woo, who co-wrote the bestseller <Two Women Living Together>, will receive citizens' stories in advance and prescribe words of comfort drawn from books and music.
In Session 2 [Hope Workshop] of Cheongchun-eoram, Seoul honorary ambassador and Korean painter Kim Hyun Jung will lead a session in which participants color in a Christmas tree the artist has rendered in Korean painting style to mark the year's end, wishing for blessings in the coming new year.
The event will be held via online YouTube live stream as part of social distancing measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Viewers can join in real time on Seoul's YouTube channel at 14:00 on Sunday, December 20. The event will stream live on the day and will also be posted afterward on Seoul's YouTube channel so citizens who could not join can still watch. The Korean painting "Hope Tree" needed to take part in Session 2, <Hope Workshop>, with honorary ambassador and Korean painter Kim Hyun Jung, can be downloaded from the Seoul in My Hands website. It can easily be downloaded from the link above, so people can join the event at home or via tablet PC.
Meanwhile, Seoul's honorary ambassadors, under the vision of "people who talk about Seoul out of their love for Seoul," are appointed from various fields including broadcasting, architecture, culture and the arts, and serve as a bridge for "citizen communication," the city's foremost value.
Citizen Communication Planning Officer Park Jin-young said, "2020 has been a year of great change due to COVID-19. As we look back on the year and welcome the new one, I hope Cheongchun-eoram will be an opportunity for many citizens to find comfort and hope alongside Seoul's honorary ambassadors."/blue@sedaily.com
