Woori Card won the Grand Prize in the Financial Sector (Financial Supervisory Service Governor's Award) at the '2018 Ajou Economy Financial & Securities Awards,' recognized for its new products offering industry-leading point and discount benefits and for significantly reducing its complaint rate through consumer protection efforts.

Woori Card's 'Card of Standards' series, launched in April this year, made a stunning showing, topping 1 million enrollments within 5 months of launch and surpassing 2 million in under 9 months.

The Card of Standards series is a product that proved popular for offering special point accumulation in 10 major spending categories and additional benefits for major simple-payment services, and it recorded the fastest issuance pace since Woori Card's founding. In fact, its usage rate and per-person spending amount were found to have increased by more than about 10% compared to existing cards.

Woori Card also designed the card plate in collaboration with Korean painter Kim Hyun Jung, earning favorable reviews as "a card that is beautiful in person" and "a stylish, pretty card."

Woori Card has also been proactive in consumer protection, recording the lowest complaint rate in the card industry since 2016. Woori Card's current complaint rate has fallen by 41.2% compared to when it spun off as an independent company in 2013.

For consumer protection, Woori Card designates and operates a website manager for each department, and is conducting voice phishing prevention education targeting the general public.

The company has also strengthened monitoring for mis-selling of products and services, established a 'Consumer Protection Office' directly under the CEO, and assigned a dedicated executive to oversee it. It also proactively prevents customer complaints through a Financial Supervisory Service hotline callback system and a customer panel program.

Centered on the four keywords of 'Responsibility, Communication, Coexistence, and Sharing,' Woori Card is also actively engaged in social contribution activities targeting underprivileged groups, such as financial education for multicultural families and a program connecting elderly people living alone with caring support.
